Job Summary:
The position requires the ability to set-up and operate the engraving machine. Engraves part numbers, serial numbers, vendor codes and other necessary requirements per customer request.
Hourly positions on 1st shift. Monday-Friday 6:30am – 3:00pm. Position requires the ability to work over-time, which may include arriving early or working on normally scheduled days off.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and understand work orders/ process documentation / prints to ensure that quality products are being run in the most efficient manner possible
- Determines engraving is correct by checking information from blue prints, such as part numbers, serial numbers, vendor codes and other requirements necessary as per customer request.
- Responsible for meeting departments rates for quantity and quality of production in order to produce quality parts in a timely response to our customers’ requirements.
- Individual would also be required to perform daily operator level maintenance on assigned machine(s) and keeps assembly department and surrounding areas clean and free of foreign object damage.
- Engrave all tags
- Order material if needed
- Run Bridgeport mill and/or drill press to drill holes in tags
- Run bench grinder to sharpen cutters for tag engraver
Education and/or Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience considered beneficial but not required:
- Basic blueprint knowledge
- Skills in operating grinders, and belt or disc sanders. (Experience would be extremely beneficial during the training process.)
- Skills related to auto body repair
- Fine detail woodworking
- Looking for team members that are motivated and take pride in their work.
- Looking for team members that are independent, proactive, extremely detail oriented, dependable, organized and able to handle multiple tasks.
A Tag Engraver on the production floor and must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb. You must also be able to reach above and below your shoulder and have fine finger manipulation. You must be able to work in an environment that is considered dusty and dirty. (Metal dust)
Starting rate: $15.50 per hour.
